Behind the Scenes: The Artist and Their Craft

Who I am

Hey, I’m Tyson, and I make leather goods the old-school way. For me, it’s about crafting pieces that feel real and have a story behind them. I focus on the quality and care that come from working with ones hands. Each piece made is unique and built to last, with its own character. I’m all about those little details that make something special and personal. When you choose one of my creations, you’re getting something that’s made with intent and purpose, not churned out in a factory. It’s my way of saying that craftsmanship still matters and that the things we carry with us should be meaningful and tell a story.

What I do

At Moonlighter, my motivation is to craft unique leather goods that stand out. I work with the best materials, like full-grain, vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned leather. But what really makes my work special is the intricate tooling and stamp work, the ability to custom-make your idea to exact specifications, and my knack for—and thrill of—finding, restoring, and reusing cool vintage buckles and hardware. I love mixing different elements into my leatherwork whenever I can. I’m enthusiastic about giving these awesome pieces a new life, whether it’s an old family heirloom with a story or a cool find you stumbled across. If you’re after a belt that's unique, a custom bag for a specific purpose, an accessory for yourself, or just want to refresh a favorite item, I’ve got you covered. With a focus on quality and creative custom work, I make sure every piece is something you’ll love for years to come.
